For more than 25 years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has built awareness and raised funds for innovative research and community outreach programs, with the ultimate goal of putting an end to breast cancer. Despite progress, all women are still at risk, and the majority of patients have no other known risk factors.
Komen fosters a vast and growing women's support network, and remains committed to ensuring that every woman follows a positive breast health regimen by receiving regular mammography and clinical exams, and by performing monthly breast self-exams. And Komen is dedicated to action as well as awareness, raising nearly $1 billion since 1982 for the fight against breast cancer.
In fact, nearly eighty cents of every dollar raised goes directly to support mission-related activities, including breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. These donations are collected through creative partnerships with our sponsors, and from corporations and individuals who want to help Komen support cutting-edge research and connect people to the resources they need in their fight against breast cancer.
